iOS Engineer

At BiblioCommons we build SaaS solutions for public libraries directly impacting the lives of millions and fostering learning, literacy and culture within the digital world. We are constantly improving our products through user research, client interaction, and the input of our creative staff.  

We are looking for an iOS Engineer to provide technical iOS leadership on the rebuild, addition to and overall delivery of our new suite of mobile applications. You will be a technical expert with proven experience delivering mobile applications that scale. You will be responsible for contributing to architecture decisions, growing and maintaining a robust and modular codebase, working closely with stakeholders to deliver on your product roadmap, helping plan ahead strategically and driving excellence in your day-to-day execution.

How you'll make an impact: 

  • Work on the development of our new mobile iOS app 
  • Partner across product, design and API developers to develop and drive requirements that take into account all parties' needs
  • Scope and stage work into well-defined milestones, working to make accurate estimates and deliver on those estimates
  • Weigh in on technical decisions that impact other teams or the company at large
  • Identify and propose strategies around technical problems affecting their team
  • Assist with researching and proposing new technologies

What you bring to the team: 

  • Swift development experience.
  • 3+ years of Objective-C development experience.
  • 5+ years of general SDLC experience 
  • Understands and makes well-reasoned design decisions and tradeoffs
  • Knowledge of industry trends, infrastructure, build tools and the Apple developer ecosystem
