We are passionate about making public libraries accessible, delightful and engaging. A lot of companies tout ‘social impact’, but at BiblioCommons we serve 6 million diverse users each month, and help them access publicly funded materials in their communities.

Libraries are more than just book stacks — they are public spaces that foster learning, connection, and community in an increasingly isolated world. BiblioCommons is bringing that community online with clever software that powers some of the world’s largest libraries.

We are creating software that transforms the experience of libraries, modernizing an essential public education service. With 6 million monthly users in 4 countries, we are looking for a Head of Marketing to craft our strategy, amplify our brand and grow our user base.

As the Head of Marketing, you’ll build out the BiblioCommons brand— crafting a strategy to make us the go-to thought leader in online library spaces. You will work cross-functionally with product and design leadership on vision and strategy. One of your key initiatives will be to help Library Directors understand and embrace a completely different vision for the future of public libraries. We are looking for a person, not a checklist— here is a guide to the kinds of experience we are interested in.

You will:

  • Build and lead a world class Growth Marketing team at Bibliocommons
  • Work directly with Library Directors to bring BiblioCommons software to their library
  • Sit on the executive team, collaborating on high level company strategy and vision
  • Shape the marketing vision, KPIs, and executional strategy
  • Develop creative thought-leadership campaigns aimed at building our user base of librarians across North America, Australia and New Zealand
  • Define messaging and positioning for the BiblioCommons brand
  • Build best practices for libraries, leveraging independant and existing research to lead the market

About you:

  • You have 5-10 years of Marketing/Growth experience
  • You have a proven track record of leadership, with experience managing teams and mentoring junior and intermediate employees
  • You have a love of, and a knack for the written word
  • You have a portfolio of creative, data driven growth campaigns to point to
  • You are analytical, with a track record of rapid experimentation to accelerate MOM growth
  • You have experience crafting successful thought-leadership and content marketing campaigns
  • You are emotionally intelligent, and can empathize with our diverse user base
  • You care about public education, and building accessible 21st century learning communities
